Truefare Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy v1.0
Effective Date: October 19, 2026
Last Updated: October 19, 2026
Truefare Health LLC (“Truefare,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) provides personalized nutrition and meal-planning services.
We recognize that information concerning your health, nutrition goals, allergies, and laboratory results is sensitive.
This Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy explains the categories of health-related information we collect, where we obtain it, why and how we process it, the categories of recipients involved, and how you can exercise your privacy rights.
This standalone policy concerns only consumer health data processed through Truefare’s mobile application, informational website, and related services (the “Services”). It is separate from our Privacy Policy, which describes the wider handling of personal information. The two policies describe the same practices; this policy supplies the health-data categories, purposes, sources, disclosures, and rights details. Applicable law governs any additional protections.
The initial Truefare mobile release is for iOS and is intended only for United States residents aged 18 or older. Rights described below depend on the law applicable to you, including consumer-health laws in Washington and Nevada and applicable sensitive-data protections in other states.
1. Categories of Consumer Health Data We Collect
Depending on the features you use, Truefare may collect or generate the following categories of consumer health data.
Nutrition goals and health-related preferences
Information concerning your nutrition goals, selected nutrition-support pathways, food allergies, allergen exclusions, and other health-related dietary preferences.
Laboratory information
Information contained in laboratory reports you voluntarily upload, including test names, measurements, reference information, collection dates, historical results, and other information appearing in the documents.
Uploaded documents may also contain personal identifiers or information about health conditions unrelated to the nutrition goal you selected.
Health-related inferences and personalization results
Information generated from your nutrition goals or laboratory results, including supported nutrition recommendations and health-related personalization information.
Meal-planning and food-related information
Meal plans, selected recipes, food choices, grocery preferences, and related information that may reveal information about your health, allergies, or dietary needs.
Related account and profile information
Information used to associate health-related records with your account, such as account identifiers, birth year, laboratory-reference sex where relevant, and other information necessary for supported personalization. Account-linked technical or request identifiers can also be consumer health data when they reveal use of health-related features; using an identifier instead of a name does not necessarily make data anonymous.
Not every user provides every category of information described above.
Laboratory uploads are optional.
2. Sources of Consumer Health Data
We collect consumer health data from:
Information you provide directly. This includes nutrition goals, allergies, preferences, and optional laboratory reports submitted during onboarding, account management, or use of other supported features.
Information generated through Truefare. This includes nutrition-personalization results, recommendations, and information derived from the goals and laboratory measurements you provide.
Your interactions with supported features. Certain meal-planning, recipe, and grocery interactions may generate information about dietary preferences or health-related goals.
We do not require you to upload laboratory reports to use supported nutrition-planning features based on manually selected goals.
3. Why We Collect and Use Consumer Health Data
We collect and process consumer health data to provide the nutrition and meal-planning services you request.
These purposes include:
Personalizing nutrition recommendations.
Applying food-allergen exclusions and meal preferences.
Selecting recipes consistent with supported nutrition goals.
Creating and maintaining weekly meal plans.
Generating relevant grocery lists and shopping information.
Processing optional laboratory reports for nutrition personalization.
Maintaining supported laboratory histories and progress information.
Operating and protecting features that depend on the information.
Responding to privacy requests and fulfilling applicable legal obligations.
Truefare uses automated processes to support nutrition personalization. Laboratory documents may be processed using specialized AI-assisted extraction technology, while nutrition recommendations are generated using supported nutrition criteria.
These processes are intended to support food-related decisions, not to provide medical diagnoses or determine medical treatment.
4. Categories of Consumer Health Data Disclosed to Recipients
We provide information to service providers and other recipients where necessary to deliver requested features, where you authorize the disclosure, or where applicable law otherwise permits or requires it.
The categories of information involved depend on the particular service.
Hosting, storage, and application-processing providers
These providers may process account-linked nutrition goals, preferences, laboratory information, and related personalization records as necessary to operate Truefare.
Specialized document-processing providers
For optional bloodwork processing, LlamaIndex/LlamaCloud receives the complete submitted report for extraction, subject to the separate permission requirement described in Sections 6 and 7.
This may include laboratory measurements, historical results, and identifiers printed in the document.
Recipe-information providers
Recipe providers may receive allergen exclusions, nutrition-related search criteria, cooking preferences, recipe identifiers, and related information necessary to retrieve suitable recipes.
These criteria may reveal health-related preferences even when direct account names or email addresses are not transmitted.
Grocery-shopping services
When you select a shopping service, it may receive relevant grocery items, recipes, quantities, store preferences, and other information needed for the requested shopping functionality.
These choices may reveal dietary or health-related interests.
Notification-delivery providers
Where supported push notifications are enabled, notification infrastructure may process device identifiers and limited information necessary to deliver account-related messages.
Supported push delivery uses general meal-plan readiness messages rather than laboratory measurements. Separate local bloodwork reminders can reveal use of that feature on your device or lock screen; notification permissions and preview settings are managed on your device.
Other legally authorized recipients
We may disclose consumer health data where required by applicable law or valid legal process, subject to the protections and limitations imposed by applicable law. A legally permitted transfer of a business remains subject to applicable consumer-health protections; it does not permit unrelated use merely because ownership changes.
Not every provider receives every category of consumer health data.
These descriptions include disclosures to providers even where a particular law excludes a qualifying processor from its definition of “sharing.” A processor label alone does not establish that an exclusion applies; applicable contracts, purposes, and recipient practices determine the relationship and consent requirements.
5. Corporate Affiliates
Truefare Health LLC is the sole company operating Truefare. We do not currently disclose consumer health data to any corporate affiliates.
6. Optional Bloodwork Processing
Truefare offers optional laboratory-based nutrition personalization.
If you choose to submit a laboratory report using the optional feature, Truefare transmits the complete document to LlamaIndex/LlamaCloud, a specialized third-party AI-assisted document-processing service.
The provider processes the document to extract relevant laboratory information.
Extraction may include printed results and historical panels beyond the measurements ultimately used for your selected nutrition goal. Related health records can be linked to a temporary account even if you have not finished registration.
The complete report may contain identifying information and health information beyond the specific nutrition-related measurements ultimately used by Truefare.
Truefare retains relevant extracted measurements and associated personalization history within your account.
Original uploaded documents are handled separately from that retained information.
Truefare attempts to remove the original report from its active temporary-upload storage after processing and retries unsuccessful removal. Extracted laboratory records and related histories remain separately in your account.
The document-processing provider has separate retention practices for uploaded files, extraction results, and operational records. Its published documentation distinguishes temporary processing data from files that remain until deleted; it does not establish a single retention period for every copy of a report. Provider-held information may remain after processing or deletion of your Truefare account. Removing a report from Truefare’s active upload storage does not by itself delete the provider’s copy or stop processing already underway. We do not promise a universal 48-hour deletion period. Applicable deletion rights still apply, including any required action with processors and other recipients.
Optional third-party report processing requires a separate explanation of the destination, whole-report transfer, purpose, and retention boundaries, and your affirmative permission before transmission. Accepting these policies or the Terms of Use does not itself provide that permission.
Declining optional bloodwork processing does not prevent you from using supported non-bloodwork nutrition-planning features.
7. Consent and Withdrawal
8. Your Consumer Health Data Rights
Depending on applicable law, you may have the right to:
Confirm processing. Request confirmation of whether Truefare collects, shares, or sells consumer health data concerning you.
Access information. Request access to consumer health data associated with you.
Identify recipients. Obtain the list of third parties and affiliates with whom your relevant consumer health data has been shared or sold, including an active email address or other online contact mechanism where required by law.
Withdraw consent. Withdraw applicable consent for future collection or disclosure of consumer health data.
Request cessation. Request that qualifying collection, disclosure, or sale of consumer health data cease.
Request deletion. Request deletion of consumer health data associated with you.
Request correction. Request review or correction of applicable information, where available under relevant law.
Appeal decisions. Appeal certain decisions concerning consumer health data requests.
These rights may be subject to lawful limitations and exceptions.
We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.
9. How to Exercise Your Rights
You may submit a consumer health data request by emailing:
Please identify the nature of your request, such as:
Access to consumer health data.
Information about recipients.
Withdrawal of consent.
Correction of information.
Deletion of consumer health data.
A request to cease applicable processing.
An appeal of a previous decision.
You do not need to include laboratory measurements or other sensitive health information in your initial email. Use an address associated with your account if available; if you no longer have access to it or did not finish registration, explain that so an appropriate verification method can be arranged.
We may take reasonable steps to authenticate your identity before fulfilling the request.
Where applicable law prohibits requiring a new account to exercise privacy rights, we will not require you to create one.
Requests are subject to applicable legal deadlines. Where permitted, an extension may be available for particularly complex requests, and we will provide the required notice. An extension for responding does not override a shorter deletion or processing-cessation deadline imposed by applicable law.
We provide responses without charge where required by law.
10. Consumer Health Data Deletion
You may request deletion of consumer health data by contacting support@truefarehealth.com.
You may also initiate complete account deletion through Truefare’s in-app Privacy & Data settings.
When a qualifying request is received and authenticated, applicable law governs deletion from relevant records and notification to processors and other recipients. These duties can reach data beyond active account records, including original reports, extracted information, derived histories, and covered recipient copies. In-app account deletion and fulfillment of a broader consumer-health deletion request are distinct.
The in-app deletion process addresses active account-linked application records and uploaded documents. It does not itself delete laboratory files or extraction jobs held by the document-processing provider or confirm deletion from backups, logs, independent retailers, or your device. A failed deletion attempt may remove some uploaded documents while leaving the account or other records in place; additional action or retry may be needed. Contact support@truefarehealth.com for health-data requests extending beyond that process.
Information held in archived or backup systems may require separate treatment under applicable statutory timelines.
Certain information may be retained where a legal exception expressly permits or requires it. Separate provider retention practices do not override applicable deletion duties.
Deleting consumer health data may prevent us from continuing to provide features that depend on that information.
11. Review and Correction of Consumer Health Data
You may review certain information through supported Truefare account and progress features.
Where applicable law provides a correction right, or where review and changes are otherwise available, you may submit a request through support@truefarehealth.com.
We may request information reasonably necessary to verify your identity or evaluate the accuracy of the relevant records.
Some information, such as an original laboratory measurement reported by an external laboratory, may require special handling rather than direct modification of the historical source record.
12. Third-Party Collection of Consumer Health Data Across Services
The informational website does not offer laboratory uploads or personalized nutrition services and is not intended for health-data intake. Basic aggregate website traffic measurement is described in the general Privacy Policy.
During your use of Truefare, third parties involved in providing supported recipe, grocery, or other service functionality may receive information about your interactions. Where that information reveals health-related food choices or interests and is linked or reasonably linkable to you, it may be consumer health data. A recipient may be able to associate it with account, browser, or device information it obtains over time and across different Internet websites or online services. We have not verified that any particular recipient conducts such cross-service collection; this disclosure identifies the possibility without stating that all providers do so.
Separately, after you open an external recipe publisher, retailer, or other independent destination, that service may collect health-related information directly from your interactions under its own privacy practices. For example, food selections that reveal dietary or health-related interests may be associated with your account, browser, or device information there, including information collected across other websites or services and over time. This independent collection after you leave Truefare is distinct from information a third party may receive during your use of Truefare. These possibilities do not establish the exact tracking behavior of any particular service.
We do not intentionally use third-party advertising technologies to collect consumer health data across unrelated websites or services. This statement does not mean that all third-party technical processing is anonymous or that independent recipients have no separate practices.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our processing practices or legal obligations.
We will provide notice of material changes as required by applicable law.
Where required, we will disclose additional data categories, recipients, or processing purposes and obtain the necessary affirmative consent before introducing those practices.
The effective date at the beginning of this policy identifies the current version.
14. Appeals and Complaints
If we decline an applicable consumer health data request, you may appeal that decision by emailing:
Use the subject line Privacy Rights Appeal and reference your previous request.
We will review the appeal and provide a written response within the time period required by applicable law.
If we deny an appeal, we will provide information about any applicable complaint mechanisms, including contacting the relevant state attorney general where required.
