Truefare Privacy Policy v1.0
Effective Date: October 19, 2026
Last Updated: October 19, 2026
Truefare Health LLC (“Truefare,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the Truefare mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the “Services”).
Truefare helps individuals make informed food choices through personalized nutrition recommendations, weekly meal plans, recipes, grocery-planning features, and nutrition-related progress tracking. Users may optionally provide laboratory reports to support additional personalization.
We recognize that nutrition and health-related information can be sensitive. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and disclose it, how we protect and retain it, and the choices and rights available to you.
For information specifically concerning health-related personal information, please also review our separate Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy. The two policies describe the same practices; the consumer-health policy provides additional detail about health data and applicable rights. Neither policy limits protections provided by applicable law.
1. Who We Are
Truefare is operated by:
Truefare Health LLC
Website: https://truefarehealth.com
Email: support@truefarehealth.com
Truefare Health LLC is the sole company operating Truefare. We do not currently disclose personal information to corporate affiliates.
The initial mobile release is for iOS and is intended only for individuals aged 18 or older residing in the United States. Our website is informational; feature availability in the app may vary.
2. Personal Information We Collect
The information we collect depends on how you use Truefare and which features you choose.
Account and profile information
We collect information needed to create, authenticate, and manage your account. This may include your name, email address, birth year, authentication identifiers, and other profile information you provide.
We may also collect laboratory-reference sex where relevant to supported personalization features.
Nutrition goals and preferences
We collect information about your selected nutrition goals, food allergies, meal preferences, household size, cooking preferences, and other settings used to personalize meal planning.
Some of these preferences may reveal health-related information.
Optional laboratory information
If you choose to upload a laboratory report, we process the document you submit and the information contained in it.
This may include laboratory measurements, test names, reported values, reference information, collection dates, historical results, and related information.
A laboratory report may also contain your name, date of birth, laboratory identifiers, or other personal information printed on the document.
We may generate and retain structured laboratory information and related nutrition-personalization results to support the features you request.
Meal-planning and grocery information
We collect or generate information relating to your weekly meal plans, selected recipes, ingredients, portions, grocery lists, shopping preferences, and interactions with supported grocery services.
Where supported shopping features ask for it, we process the ZIP code or store/location information you provide to find stores and products. If you choose to connect an external retailer account, we may process connection identifiers and authorization credentials necessary to maintain that connection and perform the shopping functions you request.
Subscription information
When you purchase a subscription through Apple’s App Store, we may receive information necessary to verify your subscription and determine your access to paid features.
This can include transaction identifiers, subscription product information, purchase status, renewal information, and expiration dates.
Apple processes App Store payments. Subscription verification provides Truefare with subscription and transaction information rather than your complete payment-card information.
Device, technical, and operational information
We and our service providers process technical information necessary to operate and protect the Services.
This may include account and device identifiers, network information, authentication-session information, request timestamps, operational events, error information, and diagnostic records.
When notification functionality is enabled, we may also process device notification identifiers, notification preferences, and related delivery information.
Communications
If you contact us, we collect the information you provide in your message and any information reasonably necessary to respond.
Please avoid sending laboratory reports, passwords, or other sensitive information through ordinary support emails unless specifically requested through an appropriate process.
3. How We Obtain Information
We obtain personal information through several sources.
Directly from you: When you register, enter your preferences, select nutrition goals, upload laboratory documents, manage your account, or contact support.
Through your use of Truefare: When we generate meal plans, maintain progress information, create grocery lists, or record interactions necessary to provide requested features.
From services you choose to use: Such as connected grocery retailers or Apple’s subscription-management system.
Automatically through service operations: When our application and service providers generate information necessary for authentication, reliability, security, and troubleshooting.
4. How We Use Personal Information
We use personal information to operate and provide Truefare, including to:
Create, authenticate, maintain, and protect accounts.
Personalize nutrition recommendations and meal plans.
Apply food allergies, nutrition goals, and meal preferences.
Process optional laboratory information for personalization.
Retrieve recipes and provide grocery-planning functionality.
Support shopping integrations you choose to use.
Maintain historical progress information.
Verify subscriptions and manage access to paid features.
Provide requested reminders and notifications.
Respond to questions and support requests.
Maintain security, investigate technical problems, and improve service reliability.
Fulfill applicable legal obligations and respond to valid privacy requests.
Our use of information for health-related personalization is further described in our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy.
Truefare is a nutrition and wellness service. Its information and recommendations are not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
5. Optional Laboratory Document Processing
Uploading laboratory information is optional.
If you choose to submit a laboratory document using this optional feature, Truefare sends it to LlamaIndex/LlamaCloud, a specialized third-party AI-assisted document-processing service, to extract laboratory information.
The complete document you submit is transmitted for processing. This means information appearing elsewhere in the report, including identifying information or unrelated laboratory results, may also be processed.
We use the extracted information to support nutrition personalization, relevant progress features, and associated historical records.
Extraction may include printed results and historical panels beyond the measurements ultimately used for your selected nutrition goal. Related health records can be linked to a temporary account even if you have not finished registration.
Truefare attempts to remove original uploaded documents from its active temporary storage following processing, with additional cleanup attempts when an initial removal fails. Successful extraction does not by itself confirm successful document removal.
Extracted laboratory measurements and related personalization records are retained separately from the original document.
The document-processing provider has separate retention practices for uploaded files, extraction results, and operational records. Its published documentation distinguishes temporary processing data from files that remain until deleted; it does not establish a single retention period for every copy of a report. Provider-held information may remain after processing or deletion of your Truefare account. Removing a report from Truefare’s active upload storage does not by itself delete the provider’s copy or stop processing already underway. We do not promise a universal 48-hour deletion period. Applicable deletion rights still apply, including any required action with processors and other recipients.
Optional third-party report processing requires a separate explanation of the destination, whole-report transfer, purpose, and retention boundaries, and your affirmative permission before transmission. Accepting these policies or the Terms of Use does not itself provide that permission.
You can decline to upload laboratory information and continue using supported features based on manually selected nutrition goals.
6. How We Disclose Personal Information
We use third-party service providers to deliver and maintain Truefare.
The information disclosed depends on the function being performed.
Cloud infrastructure and account services
Providers supporting authentication, hosting, application processing, and secure data storage may process account information, preferences, laboratory information, and other records necessary to operate the Services.
Document-processing services
The specialized document-processing provider identified in Section 5 receives the complete laboratory report submitted for optional extraction and related information necessary to process the request.
Recipe-information services
Recipe providers may receive relevant search criteria, including meal types, cooking preferences, allergen exclusions, and nutrition-related filtering information.
Grocery-shopping services
When you choose an external shopping service, we may provide selected recipes, grocery items, quantities, product information, store preferences, or other information needed to carry out the requested shopping functionality.
A connected retailer may separately associate your activity with its own account records.
Notification services
Where supported push notifications are enabled, delivery providers process information necessary to route notifications, such as device identifiers and limited message information.
Subscription services
Apple and supporting subscription-verification services process information needed to manage and verify App Store subscriptions.
Security and technical operations
Infrastructure providers may process limited operational records necessary for security, troubleshooting, and service reliability.
Not every service provider receives every category of personal information.
We may also disclose information where required by applicable law, in response to valid legal process, or as part of a permitted business transaction, subject to applicable privacy requirements. These circumstances do not create an unrestricted right to disclose consumer health data. Any such disclosure remains subject to applicable consumer-health restrictions.
Providers processing information on our behalf are subject to the protections required by applicable law and the scope of the services they perform. Independent retailers and publishers may have their own relationships with you, as explained below.
A disclosure requiring your consent or authorization must not take place without that consent or authorization. Agreement to general Terms or acknowledgment of a privacy policy does not replace any required separate health-data consent.
7. External Retailers, Recipes, and Websites
Truefare may link to independent recipe publishers, grocery retailers, and other external services.
When you open an external website or shopping service, that service may collect information directly from you, including information associated with your browser, device, shopping activity, or retailer account.
For example, a retailer may process the grocery products and quantities you choose to add to a shopping cart.
External websites and services have their own privacy practices, which may differ from ours.
We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing information directly to them.
8. Analytics, Advertising, and Tracking
We use operational information to maintain service functionality, investigate errors, protect accounts, and understand the reliability of our Services.
Truefare’s privacy policy for product development is to avoid transmitting uploaded laboratory reports, identifiable biomarker measurements, or health-related personalization results to advertising or behavioral-tracking systems.
We do not use your laboratory reports or identifiable laboratory measurements to create targeted advertising profiles.
We may introduce additional privacy-conscious product analytics as the Services develop. Before doing so, we will evaluate the information collected and provide any required disclosures, choices, or consent.
Website Analytics
Truefare operates an informational website that provides information about our services, answers frequently asked questions, and directs visitors to download our mobile application.
Our website does not offer account registration, laboratory uploads, or personalized nutrition services.
We use basic website analytics to understand aggregate visitor traffic, including page views and general website usage. Our website-hosting provider may process limited technical information necessary to deliver the website, maintain security, and provide these statistics.
The website is not intended to collect laboratory reports, medical histories, or other individualized health information. Please do not submit health information through website interactions or ordinary support email. We do not use the website to intentionally collect personal health information for advertising purposes.
Basic aggregate statistics do not mean that no technical information is processed. Independent services you choose to open may collect information under their own policies, potentially across websites and over time; those interactions can reveal dietary or health-related interests.
If our website’s information-collection practices materially change, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide any disclosures or choices required by applicable law.
Browser Do Not Track and Site Tracking Preferences
Your browser may offer a “Do Not Track” (DNT) setting or other privacy-preference signals. We have not verified how the current website configuration and its providers respond to these signals. We therefore do not represent that enabling a signal changes or prevents the basic website analytics or technical processing described above.
You can manage available privacy settings through your browser and use any site-specific tracking-preference controls if they are presented. Their effect depends on the browser, control, and services involved. For questions about website tracking preferences or to exercise applicable privacy rights, contact support@truefarehealth.com. Nothing in this statement limits any obligation to recognize legally required opt-out preference signals where applicable.
9. How Long We Retain Information
Different categories of information have different retention periods and procedures.
Account information, nutrition preferences, laboratory histories, meal plans, and related information may be maintained while your account remains active and the information is needed for supported functionality.
Original uploaded laboratory documents are handled separately from the extracted information retained for personalization. Truefare attempts to remove these documents from active temporary storage following processing.
Technical logs, security records, backups, and information maintained by external services may be subject to separate retention schedules.
When personal information is no longer needed, or when an applicable deletion request is received, we take appropriate steps to delete it or otherwise handle it as required by applicable law.
Certain information may be retained where a lawful exception applies. Provider practices or ordinary business preferences do not override applicable deletion duties.
Deletion from active application systems does not necessarily mean that every backup, operational record, or independent third-party record is removed at the same moment. Where applicable law requires deletion from those systems or notification to recipients, we will follow those requirements.
10. Your Privacy Choices and Rights
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to:
Access or obtain information about personal information associated with you.
Request corrections to certain information.
Request deletion of personal information.
Withdraw consent for applicable future processing.
Obtain information about certain recipients of your information.
Request that qualifying collection or disclosure cease.
Appeal certain decisions concerning privacy requests.
Exercise other rights provided under applicable state privacy laws.
You can update certain account and meal-planning preferences within Truefare.
You can initiate account deletion through the application’s Privacy & Data settings. If you cannot access that flow, contact support@truefarehealth.com.
To request access, a portable copy where applicable, correction, deletion, withdrawal of consent, or review of a privacy decision, contact support@truefarehealth.com. Where applicable law provides opt-out rights for sale, targeted advertising, certain profiling, or certain uses of sensitive information, you may also exercise those rights through this address without limiting any other legally required method. A privacy request does not require you to send laboratory measurements or a report in your initial email.
We may require reasonable identity verification for requests where permitted by law, using no more information than reasonably necessary. We will not require a new account where prohibited or impose verification on an opt-out request where applicable law forbids it. We will respond within applicable legal deadlines. To appeal a decision, email support@truefarehealth.com with the subject Privacy Rights Appeal and reference the earlier request. We will explain the outcome and provide any required complaint route.
Withdrawal applies to future consent-based processing and does not undo processing that occurred lawfully before withdrawal. It may affect features that need the information. Withdrawal and deletion are distinct requests; you may request either or both. We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising applicable rights.
Additional rights concerning consumer health data are described in our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy.
11. Account Deletion
You may request deletion of your Truefare account through the application.
When the account-deletion process completes successfully, it removes the active account and associated account-linked application records covered by that process, including original uploaded documents in Truefare’s active upload storage. This is distinct from completion of a broader privacy request involving other systems or recipients.
Some information held in backups, operational systems, or external services may be subject to separate deletion, expiration, or legally permitted retention procedures.
If an attempted deletion cannot be completed, additional action or retry may be required. An unsuccessful attempt can remove some uploaded documents while leaving the account or other records in place; it does not mean that nothing was removed.
In-app account deletion does not itself remove provider-held laboratory files or extraction jobs, revoke an independent retailer authorization, erase retailer carts or Apple billing records, or confirm removal of device data and scheduled reminders. You may need to manage device notifications and independent service accounts separately. This limitation does not remove Truefare’s obligations to act on applicable deletion and withdrawal requests, including required recipient coordination.
For requests involving specific consumer health information, or information not covered by in-app account deletion, contact support@truefarehealth.com.
Deleting your Truefare account does not automatically cancel an Apple App Store subscription.
You must separately manage or cancel your subscription through Apple.
You can manage Apple subscriptions at:
12. Information Security
We maintain technical and organizational safeguards intended to protect personal information.
These safeguards include authentication controls, restrictions on access to account information, private document storage, and measures intended to limit unauthorized access to sensitive information.
We also use controls intended to restrict certain sensitive information from appearing in operational logs.
No electronic storage or transmission system can guarantee absolute security.
We investigate suspected security incidents and provide notifications as required by applicable law.
13. Notifications and Reminders
Truefare may provide reminders and notifications relating to supported application features.
Local reminders may include information about bloodwork retesting and may appear on your device or lock screen, depending on your notification settings.
Supported push notifications may use device identifiers and delivery infrastructure to provide general meal-planning updates.
You can manage notification permissions through your device settings and supported reminder preferences within Truefare.
14. Children’s Privacy
Truefare is intended exclusively for individuals aged 18 years or older.
We do not knowingly offer accounts to children under 18.
If we learn that someone does not meet our eligibility requirements, we may restrict account access and take appropriate steps concerning their information.
15. United States Availability
Truefare is currently intended for individuals in the United States.
Information may be processed through service providers operating in different locations, subject to applicable contractual and legal requirements.
16. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our Services, information practices, or legal obligations.
When we make material changes, we will provide notice as appropriate, which may include notification through the application, our website, or account communications.
Where required by law, we will obtain additional consent before implementing materially different personal-information practices.
The effective date at the top of this policy identifies the current version.
